All events will have an Experience Needed and Complexity rating.  While they are usually pretty self explanatory, below are the full descriptions

Experience Needed

  • None : No Experience Required, Rules will be taught as needed.
  • Some : Understand the basics, Mentors will be available for help
  • Comfortable : Well versed in the rules, Mentors may not be available for help
  • Experienced : Know the game well enough to mentor other players

Ship Complexity

  • Low:  These ships are very small (SI 10 and smaller), usually only have one or two types of defenses, and die quickly.
  • Medium:  These ships are larger (SI 6 to SI 22), may have two or more types of defenses per ship, and different factions may have different types of defenses.  
  • High:  These are either larger ships (SI 15 to SI 28), or the ships were designed to be challenging to fly with complex weapons or oddball firing arcs,

Key

  • Green : Should be a positive experience.
  • Yellow : Should be mostly a positive experience, but expect some levels of frustration due to lack of experience either with the rules or the design of a particular ship.
  • Orange : Will be a challenging experience and will require patience by all players.
  • Red : Definitely not recommended as player will likely experience lots of frustration due to the complexity of the ships.
