When will the AVID Assistant support Saganami Island Tactical Simulator?

This is a rather common question that we receive here at ASCBI.  After all, SITS was created and written by Ken Burnside under the Ad Astra Games imprint of Final Sword Productions and used an early version of the Squadron Strike! game engine.

Here is a statement from Ad Astra Games LLC on the topic:

Ad Astra Games separated from Final Sword Productions in 2014. The reason for the separation, in a nutshell, was the AVID Assistant. David Weber's then-new, and now former, licensing management (Echo Valley) felt the AVID Assistant was an electronic game, which is explicitly against Final Sword's license.

Rather than give up on the AVID Assistant, Ken separated Ad Astra from Final Sword.

When David and Echo Valley parted ways, Ken offered to put SITS support into the AVID Assistant; Final Sword felt that this was too big of a risk with their license for the Honorverse, and declined.

So, while we would love to support SITS, Final Sword Productions feels, with good justification, that their licence does not allow for it.
